QHY5-III USB3 Series

QHY5-III USB3 Series

QHY5III174M/C
High QE 78% USB 3.0

The QHY5III174M/C uses a 1/1.2-inch, 2.3 Megapixel, SONY Exmore IMX174 CMOS sensor with global shutter. Available in both monochrome and color. The large sensor size is a great choice for solar imaging and the large pixel size and high QE makes it excellent for deep-sky imaging as well. Typical of all models in the QHY5III Series, this camera produces a high frame rates with the USB 3.0 interface, 138 frames per second at full resolution, up to 490 FPS at selected ROI.

QHY5III178M/C

Back-Illuminated 6.0 Megapixels

The QHY5III178M/C uses the new 6.0 Megapixel IMX178 STARVIS Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor. Available in monochrome and color. With its small 2.4um pixels and 1/1.8-inch sensor size, the monochrome QHY5III178M is a superb guiding camera due to its advantages in resolution and wide FOV, plus its extraordinary sensitivity due to the STARVIS Exmor sensor. (STARVIS is Sony's designation for sensors that can record real time video in starlight). Output is 50 FPS

QHY5III290M/C

Back-Illuminated Best Planetary Imager

The QHY5III290M/C uses the SONY STARVIS Exmor R back-illuminated IMX290 CMOS sensor. Available in color and monochrome. This sensor has extremely low read noise and 1920 x 1080 full-HD resolution in a 1/2.8-inch optical format sensor. This might be the highest-sensitivity sensor from Sony with such a small pixel size. The QHY5III290M can be regarded as the next generation in monochrome planetary cameras after the QHYCCD QHY5L-II-M. Output is 135 FPS at full.

QHY5III224C

Lowest Readout Noise 150 Frames / Second

The QHY5III224C uses the IMX224 sensor (color only). With its extremely-low readout noise of less than 1e-, the IMX224 sensor achieved the top score in the new SNR1 index proposed by Sony for picture quality at low illumination. It is one of your best choices for color planetary imaging. Output is 150 frames per second at full resolution and up to 550 FPS at selected ROI. For a cooled model with this sensor see the QHY224C.

QHY5III185C
1/1.9INCH Color Camera

The QHY5III185C is a 1/1.9inch format, 1920 x 1200, USB 3.0, Color CMOS Camera with ultra-high sensitivity and very low read noise. The pixel size is 3.75um x 3.75um. Maxium Frame rate is 100FPS @ full resolution and 400 FPS at selected ROI. The CMOS sensor is a SONY IMX185 noted for its very good SNR1 score.

USB3.0 Super Speed

QHY5III series cameras use a 5Gbps USB3.0 interface. With a maximum 350MByte/second image transfer speed, the cameras produce the high frame rate ideal for high speed planetary imaging.

Advanced Heat Design

The QHY5III design helps transfer the heat generated by the sensor to the metal case of the camera quickly and then to the cooling fins and telescope eyepiece holder.

Aircraft Spec Socket

The QHY5III has an extremely stable 5-pin aircraft spec socket for the guide port.
