Starbeam Finderscope

Starbeam Finderscope

The Tele Vue Starbeam Finderscope is an elegant and unique finderscope that can be used on all Tele Vue telescopes. Its unique flip mirror feature provides comfortable flexibility for viewing at any angle from straight through to 90°. Viewing straight through, you'll see the natural sky with a 10 arc-minute (1/3rd of the Moon's diameter) "red-star" showing your scope's position.

When your scope is pointed high, flip the mirror into position for more comfortable viewing. In viewing this way, the sky orientation matches a refractor or Schmidt-Cassegrain' image. The size, color and independently variable brightness and variable blink rate up to continuous on, of the "red-star" makes it easily seen against any twilight or dark sky background.

With its 39mm effective aperture, the Starbeam's projected image is easily seen at any distance behind the Starbeam, be it 2" or 2'. The glass lens acts as a beamsplitter, combining natural sky background with the superimposed red pointing 'star'. The indicator will stay stationary against the background, regardless of how it is being viewed.
