QHY247 C

QHY247 C

High Performance
Lowest Read Noise 14-bit A/D

The QHY247C uses a SONY IMX193 APS size color CMOS sensor. Pixel size is 3.91um and it has a 14-bit A/D with a full well capacity of 36ke-. The read noise is 1e- to 2.7e-, the lowest noise tested at the lowest gain in the entire QHYCCD COLDMOS product line making it ideal for stacking many short exposures.

Outputs

True RAW Original Data

Many cameras claim to output RAW image files, but there is often still some internal processing performed on the image. This can have a negative effect on the image for astronomy such as the "star eater" effect. The QHY247C outputs TRUE RAW data, preserving the original data for maximum compatibility with astronomical imaging processing programs and other scientific imaging applications.

Low Dark Current
Unique Technology 0.0012e/pixel/sec

In addition to dual stage TE cooling, QHYCCD implements proprietary technology in hardware to control the dark current noise in the QHY247C. As a result the dark current of this camera is a remarkable 0.0012e-/p/s at -15C.

Sensor AR coating

Ultra-Low Reflection Halo Reduction

Halos around bright stars are caused by reflections between surfaces of elements in the optical path. An uncoated surface usually reflects about 8%-10% of the light striking it while a high quality multiple layer coating reflects only 1% or less. The IMX193 has superb quality AR coatings on the sensor and this can significantly reduce the halo effect.

APS-C
24 Megapixels

High Resolution

The QHY247C has 24 Megapixels, high resolution, 3.91um pixels in a 6024 x 2024 array. When combined with high quality telescope optics or even with the RASA telescope, the QHY247C can generate the large images that are ideal for large scale printing.

Anti-Dew Technology

The QHY247C benefits from more than a decade of cooled camera design experience. QHYCCD has implemented full dew control solutions. The optical window has a built-in dew heater and the CMOS chamber is protected from internal humidity condensation.

128MB DDRII Buffer

The QHY247C has 128MB DDRII buffer which is well over the size needed for a full frame buffer (32MB) and is ideal for buffering the image inside camera. It helps tremendously with slower computers and also with USB2.0 connections where it improves the data transfer stability with flow control.

Multiple Setups

QHYCCD offers a variety of mechanical adapters for the QHY247C allowing it to fit a broad range of accessories, including the QHYCCD OAG, 0.5mm-27.5mm flexible back focus adjust spacer, 2-inch T-ring, IR filter holder and more. QHYCCD has a combination table which can be found on specification page.
